Updated Information about COVID-19 School Closure

Updated Information about COVID-19 School Closure

This afternoon Governor DeWine issued an order to extend K-12 school closures through Friday, May 1. We are hopeful that we can return to school and come together again as a school family on Monday, May 4. The safety and health of our school community is our top priority. We are happy to comply with the Governor’s order in the interest of keeping all of our families safe, but please know that every member of our staff is missing our students, their families, and the other members of our community. It makes us all sad that we are not together in person as school family. During our closure, we will continue to communicate any additional information as we receive it. Below are a few notes:

~ Our scheduled Spring Break of Friday, April 10 – Sunday, April 19 will still be honored. Students will not have at-home learning during that time. We will return from Spring Break for continued at-home learning on Monday, April 20.

~ All school activities, events, practices, rehearsals, etc… are on hold during our school closure. It is our sincere hope that many of our activities will be rescheduled for a later date but that will be determined in the days to come. We will share that information when we have it.

~ Our staff has been preparing for an extended school closure. Just as our students were able to begin at-home learning right from the start of our closure, on March 16, our staff is prepared for student learning to continue throughout our extended closure. As they have done for the last 3 weeks, teachers will continue to contact students with at-home learning instructions. Students should have all of their books at home. If anyone needs to pick up any materials, please contact us to set-up an appointment to come into the school to get those materials.

~ Please join us in prayer for all those affected by the Coronavirus. Each day at 9:00 am, while our SCCS family cannot come together in person, we will post a prayer on our Facebook page @StarkCountyCatholicSchools

We hope the steps we are all taking, taken in solidarity for the health of our community, will help flatten the curve of those impacted by the Coronavirus. Please stay safe! We will keep all of our families in our prayers.
