STA & CCHS alumni come together for charity golf event

The Alliance Review
Alumni from St. Thomas Aquinas and Central Catholic got together in August for their annual golf outing to raise funds that go back into their schools.

The outing began in 2012, and has been ongoing for nine years. It usually is scheduled in June, but was moved after an early postponement due to COVID-19.

The event was Aug. 1 at Sable Creek Golf Course.

More than 100 people participated, and more than 40 businesses sponsored the event. This year, $6,500 was raised for Stark County’s Catholic high schools.

“We are grateful that our alumni remain as committed as ever to their alma mater and the mission of Catholic education,” Dan Gravo, president of Stark County Catholic Schools. “Alumni support has always been a driving force behind our success, from their endorsement to new families, to their shared stories of achievement, to their financial support, alumni continue to give back to our schools in both big and small ways.”

The 2020 winning team was from St. Thomas Aquinas’ Class of 2014, Nate Hawkins, Alex Miday, Dan Mosher and Jake Stauffenger.
